Healthier Eating Habits

So far, I've been doing amazingly well on my new habits. This one will put me to the test. I've really been trying to eat more healthy. Tonight I didn't do so good. Ever have one of those movie-night dinners where you plop down for a family movie and eat snacky food for dinner? Pizza Rolls, mini quesadillas, cheese sticks...mmm! It only happens about once or twice a month (more often in the winter) so all's forgiven.

But, my new habit this week is to make better food choices by replacing not so good foods with better ones. Like wheat bread for our usual white, yogurt instead of a cookie, fruit added to my cereal instead of the ususal heaping spoonful of sugar. You get the idea.

I think I'm hoping the small changes will fake out my body and not be such a shock to my system. Maybe by the time this habit sinks in I'll have forgotten what junk food tastes like and I won't miss it so much!

Mmmm now I'm hungry. I love cheese sticks and pizza rolls. I switched from white to wheat bread a while ago and now the white tastes funny to me. I've also tried wheat pasta but it has to cook a little longer if you try that one out. My sister laughed at me when I picked up a frozen wheat pizza - it was on sale & for good reason. It was alright but you could definitely tell the difference. Yogurt with fruit or granola is good too. Good luck with your habit! I'm off to eat some ice-cream. What? I told you that made me hungry - I'm a snacker too.

We like the whole wheat pasta - my family made the switch without so much as a hiccup. We've always eaten wheat bread, so that's no biggie. We even switched to whole wheat pitas, English muffins, and tortillas.

Good luck with eating healthy - the downside is, it's usually a little more expensive. Of course, you can always eat ice cream with Rebecca to make you feel better. Think I'll go eat a little cookies & cream ice cream myself!

Good luck with this habit...some switches will be easier than others I am sure!! But baby steps in the changing over is wise, I think, so your system won't be shocked as you said!!
